The Cottage
This Highland Holiday Cottage is special! It has spectacular views from all around the house, with the Sea in front and a Sea Loch behind, fed by a sea channel. The beach is just metres away so the house is surrounded by water on three sides. It is situated at the far end of the Coigach peninsula, near what is known as 'The Island' where there is walking, hiking, rock climbing, fishing and beaches just a short walk from the front door. No need to drive.
The cottage is light, airy, bright and modern with large viewing windows all within a stone's throw of a beach. It is decorated in the style of a beach house with white floorboards throughout, reindeer and sheepskin rugs and an open log fire in the sitting room. The view from the sea from the picture windows is breathtaking - a panoramic sea view with the Summer Isles framed by a range of mountains.
As the former family home of a film maker and artist, cook and environmentalist it has a warm, homely feel with original paintings sourced from all over the world and family furniture which makes for a charming 'homely chic' look full of character. With a well equipped kitchen for all your self catering needs. Every attempt at being environmentally conscious is made, particularly for the benefit of the marine environment upon which our community depends so we particularly welcome people who share our values. Please support our local creel and hand dive fishermen by purchasing sustainably caught scallops or fresh lanquostines, crab and lobster when in season. Please get in touch using the contact form on the website for the quickest response and to find out current availability. Or email sara@littlegreenislandfilms.co.uk. Please let us know if we can do anything to help you have a wonderful trip.
The cottage sleeps 8 with 4 bedrooms, two double rooms and two twin rooms. It is surrounded by a loch-side garden for al fresco eating, and has one bathroom with bath and shower and a second shower room and lavatory. The kitchen is open plan with a kitchen table seating 8, and the view from the kitchen sink overlooks the loch. The front sitting room looks over the Minch, the Summer Isles and the Reef which has spectacular waves on a rough day. On a good day you can see the Outer Hebrides - Lewis, Harris, The Shiants and Skye.
Ideal for walkers, artists, rock climbers, bird-watchers and families wanting an 'away from it all' holiday in beautiful surroundings. Dolphins, Basking sharks and Otters are frequently seen in the summer months.
By staying at Reiff Beach Cottage you are helping us support the marine environment too! We support citizen science surveys which help protect and restore Wester Ross Marine Protected Area. This is by making the cottage available to divers and scientists involved in the restoration project for a few weeks each year as well as our time and money too. This is only possible thanks to our many visitors. To get to experience the Marine Protected Area for yourself - you can do sea-safari trips, dive, snorkel, sail, swim or Kayak. For Kayaking contact Norwestseakayking or Hamlet Mountaineering.
Pet policy: From January 2017 we have not been accepting pets. We deeply regret this as we love dogs but we have done this on request of the local sheep farmer.
